Chemical & Textile Applications
Salt is more than a seasoning; it is a critical engine for modern industry. At Alexander’s, we understand that industrial processes – from fabric dyeing to chemical synthesis – rely on chemical precision. We provide high-grade Sodium Chloride that ensures your machinery runs smoothly and your final products meet strict quality standards.
Unlike lower-grade commercial salts, which can contain grit and insolubles that damage equipment, our industrial salt is refined and optically sorted to maximize solubility and minimize waste.
Textile Dyeing Excellence
In the textile world, salt is the ‘exhaustion agent’ that drives dye into the fabric. The quality of the salt directly impacts the vibrancy and fastness of the color. Using impure salt can lead to spotting, uneven shades, and costly production errors.
- High Purity (99%+ NaCl): Minimizes calcium and magnesium impurities that interfere with chemical reactions.
- Color Consistency: Ensures even dye absorption for vibrant, streak-free fabrics.
- Rapid Solubility: Dissolves quickly in dye baths to speed up production cycles.
- Cost Efficiency: Reduces the amount of dye needed by improving exhaustion rates.
Advanced Water Treatment
Hard water is the enemy of industrial machinery. It causes limescale buildup that destroys boilers, pipes, and cooling towers. Alexander’s Salt Crystals and Pellets are engineered to recharge ion-exchange water softeners efficiently, protecting your infrastructure investment.
- Equipment Protection: Prevents scale buildup, extending the lifespan of boilers and pipes.
- High-Performance Regeneration: Optimizes the efficiency of resin beads in softening tanks.
- No Bridging or Mushing: Engineered pellets that resist clumping in the brine tank.
- Residue-Free: Leaves no sludge or dirt in the tank, reducing maintenance costs.
Selecting the Right Grade
Not all industrial applications require the same salt. For Water Softening, we recommend our compacted salt pellets or coarse rock crystals for slow, steady dissolution. For Textile Dyeing, our PDV (Pure Dried Vacuum) style or extra-fine crushed refined salt is preferred for its instant solubility.
Our technical team can analyze your current filtration or dyeing setup and recommend the exact mesh size to optimize your operational costs.
Frequently asked questions
What is the purity level of your industrial salt?
For chemical and textile applications, we supply refined salt with a purity of 99% to 99.5% Sodium Chloride. This high purity is essential to prevent chemical imbalances in reaction tanks and dye baths
Can I use this salt for de-icing roads as well?
You can, but it is too high-quality for that. Our specific Road De-Icing Salt is a raw rock salt that is cheaper and better suited for traction. This Chemical/Textile grade is cleaner, whiter, and designed for sensitive machinery.
How do you handle bulk logistics for factories?
We understand that a factory cannot stop running. We offer continuous supply contracts with 1-Ton Jumbo Bags (FIBC) or loose bulk delivery, ensuring your facility never runs out of raw material.
My shipment included damaged stone. What can I do?
Our industrial grade is processed to have extremely low insoluble matter (less than 0.1%). This prevents sediment buildup in brine tanks and protects delicate valves and pumps from clogging
